Hi, I use Simvim to control an Arduino, which is hooked up to analog rotary potentiometers. It works quite well.

I seem to remember reading that Simvim could also be used to control actual real instruments of some sort of other such as airspeed indicators and altitude indicators. However, I was not able to find the documentation.
