Hi all

I have a 3d printed wet compass that was designed to have a 28byj-48 stepper fitted. I have it working within the sim however while testing i noticed that if i do a 360 degree turn on the runway the stepper pauses for a second which causes it to go out of sync to the sim compass. Anyone know whats causing this?

Ian,
First,   although the 28BYJ-48 motors is supported in SImVim, but I still need to refine algorithm (mostly speed related issues as it is completely different to X27 motors). Additional information about 28BYJ will be placed on the website soon.

As for the problem you have described, it turned out that current version has an issue with full-circle gauges. It happens when stepper jumps through  zero-position.

So we need to return to the stepper program again to solve this. As we it will be done we will inform community here.

Ian, good to know.
I will upload more info about using the 28BYJ-48 stepper later today on the website.
One note - if using the EasyDriver board, you need to power it (M+) by exact 5V supply, no more! And set the lowest possible current (by on-board trimmer). If the voltage will be 6+ volts the stepper will skip steps and loose precision.

vlad yes thats exactly how i have it set up, I just need to figure out a way to make it sync with the sim at startup, at the moment i have to unplug the stepper position the aircraft to match the compass then plug the stepper back in
