Preliminary remarks

In the previous version 2, there shouldn’t be two SimVimX folders: one with the latest version of the plugin and one with an older version (in a renamed folder), because if both plugins were present, only one could connect to the main board (usually the one that loaded first, which could be the older version).

The same applies to plugins versions 2 and 3, which can’t run simultaneously! Therefore, X-Plane can only have one SimVimX plugin folder.

  1. If you have a “SimVimX” folder with a plugin from the previous version 2.22, you can zip the entire folder and save it somewhere on your disk if you want keep the old version for some reason.
  2. You’ll only need the old data.cfg file and the conversion file for your custom aircraft (your_plane.conv), if you had one, temporarily.
  3. Install new SimVImX v.3.0 – just unzip the SimVimX.zip file into the X-Plane “Plugins” folder.
  4. Place your old data.cfg and your plane .conv file into the SimVimX /old/ folder.
